I am installing a original type AC oil filter on my 53 powerglide 235. my question is the engine has never had a filter installed ever, the oil used has always been non detergent, what is the best procedure to follow after installing a filter for the first time ? I am afraid to switch to a modern type of oil for fear of loosining up all the sludge in the engine ? Should I drop the pan and start cleaning it up before I switch oil or just change the element often.....thx gmguy
