just replacled bolts& studs on the intake manifold,soft bolted it together. then bolted it to the head torqued to 35 LBS. tighened the manifold to manifold bolts to 25 LBS. pulled the assamble & checked with a straight edge. .010 was the bigest gap I could find. checked the head .005 was the worst spot. to the machine shop? or put it together and pray. the gaps do not coinside with each other. the exasth manifold was the worst culprit.this is a new motor to me, so I don'nt know how well it ran before I got it. it only has 45,000 on it.wicth was well documented by the P.O. this is a 1948 216 out of a coupe. I would think it is in spec. or am I just over worrying about nothing?
