You have a little bit of misinformation.
The engine to trans mount pattern stayed the same all the way up to the late 90's when they went to the new LS1 type of engine. All of the 1/2 and 3/4 ton trucks stayed the same as the earlier ones until then.
I used to be a heavy line mechanic at a Chevy dealer, so I put in a bunch of engines.
