Does anyone know what years of this transmission will fit onto a normal GM bellhousing such as mechanical or hydro with slave cylinder?,from what I know so far they made the NV4500 from 1991 to 1995 to fit all GM truck engines.
Then in 1996 to 2000 they made them to fit each engine on its own meaning they must have used a different bell housings or changed the transmission bellhousing bolt pattern.
So the question is would the normal GM bellhouseing out of a 1986 bolt up to all years on the NV4500 1991 to 2000 to be able to use it with an older chevy engine.?
I would like to use a NV4500 in a 1972 pickup truck with a 366 big block engine.
I found out that the bolt pattern on the GM engine blocks is not the same for trucks after 1988 on the half tons or 1991 for the one ton R series trucks.
An older transmission on a newer body style truck engine after 1988 or 91 will not hook up but it might work the other way around with the non-integral bell housings.?
