I'm in the same boat, guumbah. I've looked for a stock-style replacement, too - though I didn't look *super* hard. I also got the foam donut from a vendor; didn't do a lot of good on its own.
If I find one somewhere, I'll drop you a line.
My 56 is far from show quality, so I'm just going to keep my eyes open for something that would work at junkyards and such. The parking brake lever has a pretty long throw, though.
