Chances are the sender is the wrong OHM you should have a 0-30 OHM,I got one when I bought my gas tank it was marked 0-30 OHM so I installed it with out checking same thing happened to Me so I pulled it out and checked it with my ohm meter and it was 75-150 I think even thu it was clearly marked 0-30,they gave me a new one,and all was well,I would check the ohms frist.It should read from 0 at one end to 30 at other.
