I replaced the 6v gas gauge with a 12v during conversion. The gauge registered Full all the time so when I installed a ground from the sender post to the frame it now registers Empty all the time. Do I need a voltage reducer or resistor on the ignition to gas gauge circuit to get to register correctly?
The ground you installed from the sender post to the frame - are you saying you used a "Y" connector on the sender with one wire going back to the guage and the other to frame ground? Try moving the ground wire to the sender flange instead, sounds like the guage is working fine.
