That intake is the original cast iron, not aluminum. The paint is supposed to work on the headers as well. I also used it to paint the waterpump, thermo housing, coolant lines to the intake, the transmission case and the master cylinder. So far it has held up well in all areas. The plugs for my headers came from napa. I don't remember how many turns, but it doesn't leak and went in easy. I will be installing an aluminum Edelbrock 2 x 1 on my 261. I still haven't decided if I will coat it or not.
