Well I am positive 292s were light green. I did susp ect a new block because it is unpainted and because of the obvious hand stamped numbers on the pad. I have a casting # located in the center of the block very close to dip stick on right side facing fwd. The number is GM 8788406.
The side covers are 4" tall and 13" long. The only thing green is valve cover, head, and oil pan. Fuel pump is located fwd on right side just below distributor. From the info each of you have passed on I no longer think it is a 292 BUT SURE WISH IT WAS.
