Hi Guys -

I searched the old topics and did not see an answer to this.

I have justed overhauled a military GMC 302 out of an M211 to go into my '54 GMC 350 dump/flatbed. The old engine was a 270. The old civilian bellhousing bolted on fine, but the 270 starter bumps into a small hummock on the 302 block that is not present on the 270. I read somewhere that this hummock can be ground down to allow the civilian starter to fit, but wanted someone smarter than me to comment before I grind a hole in the block of my new engine.

Thanks
