You are going to have to get a drive shaft built with a slip joint. If its a swb pickup, you can get by with a single Drive shaft. I am assuming the 8.8 came out of a 56 or earlier. 57 came out with the 9". Some of them used Spicer 1310 and some used a Mechanics joint. If you have the Ford drive shaft, measure from the middle of the companion flange on the rear to the middle of the companion flange on the rear. You might want to take the companion flange off the transmission and take it to a drife shaft shop. Tell them what you are doing and have them build them a shaft with a slip joint.
