I agree with 48bigtrucks. It sounds like the fuel tank has rust and corrosion "flaking" inside the tank and this is stopping the flow of fuel. The same thing happened to my '47 F%#& sedan until I removed the fuel tank and cleaned and sealed it. Good luck
This sounds reasonable. However, wouldn't my sediment bowl be empty? It was full of fuel.
