I'll check these things. I suppose it could be junk, but it's strange that the old one was pumping fuel, albeit weakly, but the new one won't. Same lines, same tank, etc. But, I'm intrigued by your statement that "Inserting the pump lever ove the loabe of the cam is sometimes tough." Could you elaborate a bit? Perhaps I've done something there that was not right? Is it possible to not get it positioned correctly? How can I tell if it is positioned correctly?
I've checked the fuel filter and the carborator. Both are fine. The truck will run if I pour fuel down the throat of the carb so I know I have spark.
