hey guys;

my sister has a '95 Dodge/PLymouth Neon, with a 2.0L SOHC.

the engine has a terrible tendency to blow head gaskets, which it did. oil in the antifreeze, etc etc. so, it over heated, and all the pistons were shot. we thought it was the crank, because there was a knock, so, we thought rod bearing.

we Plasti-Gaged the rod journals, and they all checked out. so we replaced the pistons and rings, seals, head gasket, etc etc...


well, we put the engine back in the car, and it started up really nice. there was a slight lifter rattle, or so we thought, but nothing major. my dad took it for a ride, and it developed a knock, and lost oil pressure, and became generally gutless.

now, money is tight, as i imagine it is for everyone else. but, the first thing that comes to mind is the crank.

could it be anything else?

any insight would be greatly appreciated.
