I have been looking for a modern sized tire to fit on my 17 inch lock ring rims. I have been squirreling around trying to compute the closest size to try and fit them on my old rims. The old threads report that a 235/85R/16 will work on an old 16 inch rim.
So, the question is: has anyone used a 235/70 or 80R /17 tire on their old rims to replace the 700 or 750 /17 tires ?
