Yes I was lucky. Before I found Royal Silver, I was driving all my chrome parts to Richmond to get them plated. It was a pain.. Plus there is no compairison as the Royal Silver quality is much better than the Richmond version.
As for my parts: Before plating, all needed repairs such as dents, rust and flaking should be removed on the very rusted and pited parts. The process begins with the parts being stripped down to the bare metal and glass beaded. It is then treated with copper to repair the holes. It then gets buffed to a mirror finish and triple plated with chrome.
Some of the parts were so bad that I thought they would have to be replaced but Royal Silver was up to the repair job.
