I had to drive a 1968 IHC pickup out of the wilds of northern Canada once using the primer bulb off of my Johnson outboard motor. The fuel pump failed up by the drowning river, and believe me, there wasn't a International Harvester dealer within 200 miles.
We tried using the windshield washer tank and pump first, but results were wildly unpredictable.
