If it runs to start with you probably won't have much trouble.
I drove 8,000 miles in 28 days in my mostly stock 52 1 ton truck.
A trip around the country and a set of points and a generator bearing was about all I needed. I had a spare ignition system less distributor and a spare fuel pump and some fan belts under the seat just in case though.
