The 235 is not original, yours would have come with a 216. The 4 speed tranny was offered as an option for 1/2 tons. The original rear end gears would of been 4.11 and the original drive shaft would have been an enclosed torque tube. Also, 1/2 tons were 6 lug, 3/4 were 8 lug and used a 2 piece drive shaft. The first piece was enclosed and the 2nd was open.
