OK, consider me duly chastized! I've pulled thousands of tons of freight up and down the road behind an old Detroit 318, and the last heavy-haul wrecker I drove was on a GMC Astro 3-axle with an 8V-92T engine. When the full-electronic Detroit 60 was introduced, it pretty much spelled the beginning of the end for the 2-stroke engines as freight haulers. Yes, they can still fill a niche for certain types of specialty uses.
