I went to the dark side when diesel fuel cost was considerably less that gas and I truly loved my Cummins powered Dodge. Before that real truck I had owned a diesel powered Toyota Pickup in my younger days which was a gutless wonder but it got nearly 50 mpg. I sold that little truck for more than I paid for it after putting 150k additional miles on it. The maintenance of the Dodge was a real killer, seems like anytime something went wrong it was a minimum $1000. After the diesel fuel costs equalled out and surpassed the gasoline prices it was cheaper to run my gas powered suburban so I sold the Dodge. If the suburban breaks I can fix it myself.
