The Frantz TP filter is not a crackpot idea. They really work, but the whole thing is designed differently than the AC or Fram filters. The oil passes thru a tiny hole, maybe only 1/16? Up through a tube in the center of the filter and then comes down through the length of the TP roll. There are screens top and bottom to keep the paper in place. Then it flows back into the motor. It is strictly a by-pass system. I wouldn't suggest anyone putting a roll of TP in there canister filter.
