My two cents...
I'm pretty much self-taught in both areas and find mechanical work easier than body work. I think a lot of that is how my mind works, and people who are wired differently are likely to find different skills easier to learn and use.
I'm glad we're all different, otherwise you'd all be like me and none of us would be happy.
