Carb icing, I get that about every single day here where I live, this time of year. In fact, that's part of the reason I moved from the single barrel, to the offy and two Carter W-1's. I figured, two carbs, each with half the airflow... Now I have two frozen carbs, about 2 minutes after start up, the truck starts to stumble, and dies. I have the manifold heat on the carbs. I just wait a few minutes, as the exhaust headers warm up the carbs, and away I go!
When I have a little more time in the morning, I just put the trouble light in there, and let it warm up the carbs.
I have never had icing on the highway though.
