| | | | Joined: Oct 2003 Posts: 5,152 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Oct 2003 Posts: 5,152 | The 292 was never offered in a '60 but was offered in '63. I don't know from experience, but you may be able to adapt '63 mounts for a 292 to your earlier frame.
In '60 the standard six offering was a 235 that used a front mount. The later design motor (250/292) is usually side mounted like a V-8. The 292 uses side mounts that do NOT line up across from each other.
The 292 also does NOT use the same bellhousing as the earlier six, though if you 292 came from a 60's truck it will probably work in your '60, though you could have the hydraulic clutch version which will cause complications.
You might move these questions into the 60-66 area where hopefully guys with more details will speak up.
