I would trust any older style 292 (not too familiar with the newer integeral models), but I believe one originally from a larger truck may have an extra piston ring or some other minor differences.
If you do go with one, dual exhaust would be nice, but at least use a straight thru muffler on it. These engines will perform a lot better when they can breathe and it will sound sweet to boot.
The 283 Vette engine sounds like a good deal by the way. A good bare block alone would be worth way more than that asking price.
