Congrats, Doug! It is good enough to get an interesting old truck, but one that was in the family is even better! It can be a bit overwhelming to contemplate a restoration, or even just a "get it really useable" fix-up. It has helped me to just pick one or two little things to get in the groove when you are ready to start.
This site has been a great help to me in the little time I have been on it. I also strongly suggest you get one of the Shop Manuals (either a reprint or an original) - they have been a tremendous help to me on my 'bolts. Read up on it until you start.
