We used to put 7.50 17 tires on our GMC 3/4 tons. However, running them 55 all day long with 15" tires won't hurt them. He did it 50 years ago and they will still do it. You just have to get used to the noise. A steel fan, solid lifters and no insulation make for a lot of noise.
