Is there a chance that the glass is not in the bracket correctly or that the glass has been replaced and potentially short? If the glass sits too low, or if it is short it may have to come up too far. I replaced my window rubber last year and things worked OK. The kit came from J. CArter's or Classic. I suspect my glass is small since I can not roll it all the way up (and into the top of the car window frame). Maybe something to consider.
