I use neoprene with good results on the later blocks (after 54)it is much easyer to replace with the engine in the car (no chinese finger torture tool neeeded)
Make sure it goes in the right direction or it will leak as a waterfall (don`t ask me why I know that :rolleyes: ).
Check if the oil in front is comming out of the gasket or the crank oil seal.
If it is the seal, buy a 6$ pulley repair sleve because your pully shaft may be worn and it will leak again even with a new seal (don`t ask me why I know that :rolleyes: )
