I did not want to let on that this was for a 1977 F@RD F150 and the dampner is available for 60-70 dollars. I got the truck for $250 and I plan on using it to haul firewood and other nasty stuff and I figure I will not have to worry about scratching the paint. I need to remove the dampner, since I plan on changing the timing set, since the truck has 113,000 miles on it and I was wondering if I need to replace dampner. If the cracked rubber is more a cosmetic thing rather than a performance/safety concern than I will just leave it be. There, I aired my dirty laundry, please be kind. At least it is an American vehicle! wink
