Thanks for the quick info, I've already fired off a fax to Chevies of the 40's for most of the gasket kits and brake parts, but still need to determine if this is a splash motor or a full flow.
From what I've read so far there is supposed to be a kidney shaped cover held on by 3 screws halfway back on the drivers side.
Not knowing exactly what I am looking for I would say I can't see it there. Does this make it a full flow?
I've determined that this truck was built in June in LA in 1951, from the information that I've dug up so far.
I'm thinking that the original owner either replaced or stepped up to the 235 in or around 54.
