First off let me congratulate you on a fanatastic website for sourcing information on these great old trucks.
I'v e just purchased a 51 chev 5 window shortbox, which has been sitting for 17 years under a tree, in Everett.
I've spent a few hours already sourcing engine serial numbers and casting numbers and am pretty sure that I have a 235 cast in 54 at the Flint plant. The title says rebuilt, but what that refers to I'm not sure.
the head number appears to be
CON13 - 3835913 - GM 14
there is another number
3833922 or 3836922 (numbers hard to read)

the block number is 3875911
the engine serial is 0737235 F542 34
the door VIN number plate is missing but there is a painted cardboard(?) plate with 20JPF -thats's all- on it
on the carburetor there is no tag but the numbers B14 913 - 241 - 570

"Pearl" (bombay Ivory701C) (as she is now named) is very straight, and I plan to use her as my daily driver.
I am located in Vancouver, BC, Canada and would appreciate any names of part suppliers close to me.
I have already made a list of what I need from the Carter website and American Classics.
This is my first truck resto, but I have completed a 63 falcon, 66 olds dynamic 88 and a 60 chev belair and have been puttering for the past year on a 61 jaguar MK-9.
I will post pictures and progress report as I go along, right now I'm in the -lancing the boil stage- and draining all the rancid fluids before I even attempt to turn the motor over.
