What did I do? I purchased a 1952 3100 in pieces. The engine has a casting number of 3692703 and a serial number JAD766756. The head has a casting number of 3835499.
The websites that I checked show that I have a block for a 235 passenger vehicle with powerglide and the head is from a 1950 216. It was together when I bought it but it was not running due to a broken valve seat. The head is machined and the Valves ground (intake measures 1.92").
I purchased a valve grind gasket set from Jim Carter that doesn't fit and baffels them. Anybody know what I have and will it work? It seems to match and the old head gasket seems to have worked. I sent it to them to match but they claim I have a 1954 235. I couldn' t be that lucky.
