The main problem is no doubt that it hasn't moved in the last 35 years and is probably rusted solid. I'd probably just start spraying everything down good with the penetrant of your choice, and start slowly working things back and forth till something starts moving. The key word here is patience. Getting in too big of a hurry is what makes things start to break!
