atomarc 'Bolter A Joined: Jul 2004 Posts: 5,708 Eureka, CA	Rich, One reason a battery will discharge by itself is because of a shorted cell. If you pull the caps on the cells when you load test a battery and during the test one of the cells bubbles and boils, it's an indication that cell is shorted and could be the cause of a self discharge or the reason the battery won't accept a charge.
