A double groove pulley might be enough to make it line up. My 292 had a double belt set up on it (the engine was from a '75 chevy 3/4 ton van) but the grooves had about half an inch between them. That might help;you might even have to move your alternator BACK a little with that one. I didn't see the pic on my previous response.YES-I think a pulley change can bring it into alignment.
