I have had an aversion to babbitted engines since I worked on a 36 flathead Ford some 35 years ago. Maybe if it was a babbited GM product I wouldnt have this "problem". I`ll try to post a photo and the ID #`s if all works out. Hopefully it wont be be a wild goose chase. So did GM ever have babbitted rods or was that just limited to Chevy? If so when was the switch made?
