I'd say you can do them seperately, but don't hold it to me [sez bullfoot], I think the first is the cut out point [goes no higher] and the 2nd is the cut in point [opens when current flow falls] - I think the air gap should be OK if the system is working about right at 6V .... I don't think you can hurt anything if you don't go too far, and reset it if you put a 6V batt in
