My carrier was stamped 41-10 on the ring gear AND on the end of the pinion,which was the one I was first able to see.
Fred T;How about a 4L80E? I know it's an expensive piece usually,but would it hook to a 292? BTW-if you need something like a later model parts truck,watch the storage lot auctions.A bro of mine just picked up a '94 suburban with a trashed front ring and pinion,all the bells and whistles,and a bigblock,for 350.00.He pulled the full time hubs apart and drove it home.
