I've got a good strong 1959 235 motor that I am planning on putting into my 51 pickup.
Since I'm doing a close to stock restoration I want to keep the 6 volt foot starter. I know that won't be an issue with my 12volt upgrade.
Got the correct bell housing to accept the foot starter linkage and motor mounts, but can I just change out the ring gear on the flywheel to a 139 tooth version and bolt in the 6volt starter or do I need to find a flywheel, and clutch set up from a 216 to get compatability? It is an 11" clutch plate.
Is the flywheel diameter for an 11" clutch the same as a 9".

thanks
