So left this morning at 6:30 am and drove up t get the truck. got to the truck at 11:30- put in a battery and the ammeter jumped to life when turning the key. so-
hit starter- nothing- so put spacer between starter pedal linkage and starter and it turned over- Timing was WAY OFF. so fixed that. still could not get spark. so loaded it on the trailer using the winch- then started for home- lunched at 3:00 in tecumseh NE. at pizza hut. then hit the road. south of auburn ne the trailer got a flat. changed it. then went back up to auburn to put air in it(it was low) then headed south again on hwy 75. same spot, same tire- another flat. it is now about 5:00pm
So called dad at his house and asked him to look for emergency tire repair places around.
Found Cunningham Farm service( they have a truck that comes to you to change tires.

all the trailer tires are old- and dry rotted- so I told him to bring me four new tires. after a few calls back and forth he found a set in Nebraska city(where he lives) and he drove down the 30 minutes to where we were.
In 1 hr and 45 minutes or so- he had all four trailer tires changed(dismounting old tires- installing new- and remounting to trailer- as well as checking my truck spare(which will work for the trailer as well(load range E tire.) we paid him $745 for the job and tires(actually most went for piece of mind knowing the teenage trailer tires were gone) made it to the house about 10 minutes ago.
The things you will do to rescue a Big Bolt. Pics tomorrow.
