It only makes sence that this water line would be a NPT. Look around on the 64, you may find another NPT part or plug you can remove and try in this hole. I know there are many American cars and trucks in England, many collectors of US militarys vehicles, must be a parts source there. Also I'm sure several of the vendors online can ship the needed parts to you.
