Lots of work on Brad's part ... pure enjoyment (and references) for you!

I recently put an '88 T-5 trans behind the 230L6 in my 63 C-10 and love it...unfortunately the 230 is on its last legs. I've read here about WC vs no-WC T-5 tranys and fully anticipated that if I ever went to anything larger than the 230 I would have to get a WC T-5. I am now struggling with the decision to either rebuild the 230 or swap it out for something newer. I can get a salvage 350 complete for $700 with ~ 50,000 miles on it. I'm not really looking to build a hot rod, just something that I can drive and maintain without too much difficulty and expense. Anybody been in the same position? Any ideas on the rebuild cost for a 230? | | |
