I would do it too.... Ever see that episode of "American Hot Rod" where that kid (bluebear?) was in a build-off with Boyd? Anyhow, to make a long story short, Boyd Coddington fired that kid because he refused to box the frame on the rat rod he was building. Anyhow, I thought it was an interesting point to bring up because it just shows how important reinforcing these old rigs is for safety.
