most diffs are open meaning all the power is transferred to 1 wheel,the one with the least resistance,ie one wheel on the gravel,one on pavement,the gravel wheel will spin.Good for driving in wet or in town where there is lots of corners,etc.Hence the one wheel peel!A positraction puts power to both the wheels at all times and a locker will lock up both wheels when one spins.
