ok, so from what your saying this is normal for this gap to be present between the block and the plate that the pump mounts too? i could take the water pump off to see myself, but id much rather wait to get an answer from someone else. also, if the pump goes bad, is their a weep hole on it to leak fluid out? or do the bearings go first and squeal/have lots of play. im trying to make sure i dont need a pump too. thanks for the help.
