I am runninmg a SB 350 and 700R4 in my 55 2nd.I am also still using the stock 3:90 rearend which works out just fine with the 700R4 Overdrive setup. 20 MPG all day long.I also changed my frontend over to a TCI independent suspension,with disc brakes and power R&P steering.A little pricey,but man the ride and handling is just fine.There are several different ways to go with independent suspension,but I would highly reccomend swapping the frontend out.
