I agree Bill,but it works
both ways.
Some of the worst cuts I've had has been from de-laminating glass.

One car a (F*rd Escort imported from the U.S.) was so bad it was like scimitar swords breaking away as I tried to remove the windshield!
(It must have come from a really hot State!)
Laminated glass is great,
as long as it's in good condition.Another point is,Tempered glass(toughened as we call it here) doesn't discolour and go brittle over time,unlike the yellow glass that was in my truck when I got it.
Sorry Scott,I was schooled entirely in Metric. I'm OK with feet and inches,but when you get down to fractional measurements,I'm stuffed!
