The u-joint receives its lube from the trans. After a rebuild you fill the torque tube ball with about a cup of trans oil to give initial lube.
My concern I suppose is that as this area is fairly well lubed I wasn't expecting it to run much hotter than the trans case.
As Dave suggested, it would be good to get some feedback from other guys running the torque tube drive.
